Whats the Difference Between Blogs And Websites?

The Difference Between Blogs And Websites

Online journals, better known as blogs, are becoming more and more popular. Blogs are kinds of websites. But while a Blog is a Digital Magazine a Website is a Digital Storefront.

  • Information entered on a weblog is generally updated very frequently depending on the writer. much like a magazine with the blogs home page as its cover page.

  • Blogs are generally more informally presented to the visitors. The language used is often much simpler than on websites

  1. A website is generally a little harder to maintain and oftentimes requires a solid understanding of the way the Internet works. With a blog, almost anyone can easily and quickly update a blog. It does not require any special working knowledge of the Internet.

  • Blogs also encourage people to communicate with each other much more so than with a website.Blogs encourage those who have similar thoughts, interests or even businesses to share their blog site so readers can find them easily

  • In blogs, every post has its own static page, but the main page of the blog is dedicated to the series of latest posts in reverse-chronological (latest to oldest) order. While no matter the number of time a post on a website is visited the arrangement remains the same

As a business owner, you have to determine whether being a news source or a storefront is right for you. Which will earn you more business – commentary with personality or detailed product and service offerings?

If fresh and original content is most likely to attract, engage, and convert prospects into buyers, then a blog or digital magazine as your home page is the right online strategy for you.

If your products and services are well-known or in high demand, then a website with a home page that is focused on commerce is clearly the best approach for your business.

RECOMMENDATION

Google loves blogs because they serve up fresh up to date content that is in demand but you need a place for offering products and services upfront .

Why not a hybrid site that combines the best of a blog and traditional website.

You can build a site to highlight your primary products and services front and center (above the fold)  on the home page of your site – with the most recent blog posts below the fold.

However, you have to do the work of actively creating fresh content as it is the surest ways for staying in the good graces of Google.
